“Just months ago, I didn’t really know much about the Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop (The Shop) but a friend invited me to visit her while she volunteered and ever since then, I’ve been invested in helping this local non-profit continue its legacy and mission in helping our kids and schools.
Last week, I worked my second shift at The Shop. The time flew, we were very busy…good busy! During this shift, I worked at the cash register for the first time. I made a few mistakes (disclaimer: it’s been about 20 years since I touched a cash register) but I learned quickly and did my best to engage each customer so hopefully they had a positive shopping experience!
I met many wonderful local and not-so-local folks and had so much fun. Customers bought costumes for Halloween, sweaters for the impending cold days, and one customer bought golf clubs so he can teach his nephew to play with him! One customer came back an hour later to bring his mom to this shop in Wyckoff he just discovered that day. It was a very rewarding day connecting with, and at the same time giving back to, the community.”
“Today, I worked my fourth shift as a volunteer for the Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop. It’s a rewarding place to spend a few hours and help this local non-profit continue its legacy and mission in helping our kids and schools.
I met many wonderful folks. One customer I met is Dorothy and she bought a set of china. As we chatted, she shared what she will do with her new set [for her own non-profit business]. I think it’s a great way to really emphasize what our two non-profit businesses do. Reduce – Reuse – Recycle. Thank you Dorothy for shopping at our business and we hope to see you again soon!”
